[Airy closes the tome after drawing Eve a little heart and begins to tidy up. There really isn't anything for her to clean but she moves some things around and brushes away some dust. She's trying to keep herself occupied and her thoughts from twisting and turning down either unpleasant or weird paths.
Her room is very personalized considering she's only been at the castle for a few months. It has all the lightness of spring that the rest of the wing has but a little bit more than Airy has brought into it herself. On the windowsill rests a collection of dried blue roses that Airy had found a wooden container to use as a vase. A thin strip of satin from a destroyed dress was tied around it, making it appear more decorative and lighter. Next to that is a journal, a quill and some ink. There is one piece of paper on top of her notes that looks like it's used for random scribbles as well as Airy's attempt to get used to a quill.
The nightstand has three candles of different lengths on it though given the light from the window they aren't lit now. Airy's bed is pressed against the back wall, near the window so she can reach the windows ledge from her bed. The dresser is pushed against the opposite corner, holding her boom box, the stack of CD's and in the top drawer is her violin. She'd used some of her given shirts as a make shift case for the lovely instrument.
Airy leaves the door cracked open and when Eve enters she'll find the young Creator sprawled across her bed with her head hanging off the edge and her long hair spilling down to the floor. She was wearing one of the two dresses that she had commissioned from the fairy seamstress. This one was purple and a little bit longer so that she could have her arms and legs in all directions and still be relatively covered. Airy misses the days of shorts and tank tops.]
[Eve liked Airy's room. It kind of reminded of what a college dorm room looked like. Or at least what she imagined they would look like since Eve never got the chance to really go to college. But it looked nice, like the sort of place that you didn't mind spending time in because it wasn't a home necessarily but it was a place that someone lived in and made their own.
Closing the door behind her she flopped down on the bed, mimicking Airy's pose. She had on some yoga pants and a tank top though, nothing fancy like her friend.]
[Airy never got the chance to go to college but she likes creating little homes wherever she ends up; in New York and now here in the fairy castle. It isn't exactly home but it's a comfortable place where Airy feels safe. It's also the reason that she hasn't gotten into the habit of bringing people back to her room.]
Hey.
[She spoke softly as she turns her head towards Eve. Despite herself, her lips tug into a war smile. Eve has a way of making Airy smile.]
What should I do if someone says they want to make love to me? I realize I might be over thinking this but two people have said that to me and I'm not sure what it means. I'm trying really hard not to like people but if I saw them sleeping with someone I'd probably cry, which I don't want to do.
I also know that this world doesn't exactly lend itself to monogamous so my whole plan was to suffer in silence and try and get used to it but people say things and now I'm confused. [One hand gently paws at Eve's shoulder.]
Eve. Tell me I'm just being silly and that I shouldn't be feeling weird.
[She wasn't entirely sure what the problem was but Airy was clearly
distressed about this. She had a feeling her friend was overthinking it but
they needed to unpack this a bit more.]
Actually, why don't you tell me the entire context of what's going on. But
it's okay to feel a little silly and weird about sex and feelings.
Well... with one, yeah. The first one, we hadn't had sex until right then. I was trying to... I'm not sure what I was trying to do but I told him I wanted to fuck him and he said, 'no, I'm going to make love to you and then fuck you' and I was so swept up into it and then afterwards I realize I don't know what that means. I don't have a good track record with people I sleep with. Like before here.
[She pauses to breath.]
The other one involved sleeping with a guy and then it was awkward and he didn't talk to me for three weeks and then we talked and he opened up to me and then he said he liked me and then we had sex again.
Eve. [Airy looks over at her.] I'm trying not to have feelings, any feelings here, but I'm scared because I think I'm going to and then I'm going to get hurt and cry. [She pauses.] Again.
Oh Airy. Of course you're going to have feelings here. That's who you are.
[And Eve knew that was going to be hard for her friend. Not everyone
was like Eve was, able to do that sort of thing so casually.]
Why do you think I've never tried to seduce you? Because I know the
feelings would complicate it for you. But you don't have to let that stop
you. You just have to learn how to have those feelings in a new context.
[Her mouth tugs into a frown as she turns to look over at Eve. Her hair is all over the place and Airy has to take a moment to push it away from her cheeks so it doesn't tickle her.]
How do I do that? I mean, I care about them very much. [She pauses.] The two people who said that to me. One, um... Cassidy, he's helping me get my Creator powers back. At least, that's kind of what we agreed. The other... [Airy pauses again, this time looking up towards the ceiling.] I actually thought Thor hated me but maybe that wasn't true. He's also really hot. I mean really really hot. [Airy closes her eyes as she continues.] I know they're sleeping with people because that's what we're supposed to do here, so why do they have to mention anything about 'making love'? Even if it's just a phrase I'm going to over think it.
[Which is what she's doing... right now.
Airy groans and pulls a pillow over her face, her words briefly muffled by the fabric before she pulls it down to rest on her chest.]
On the other side, I'm kind of a cry baby sometimes and I want to just keep things simple but I'm worried that I can't. Not that I have feelings yet. I just... like them but it's like all the warning signs that I might be getting feelings are there. God I'm making it sound like a fucking disease... [Airy hugs the pillow before turning her head sideways to look at Eve. Her position on the bed doesn't look particularly comfortable but it is.]
So how do I do that? Sorry, I was rambling. I had to get all that out there. To ... someone. [She pauses again.] Thank you for being my friend Eve.
I'm pretty sure you could seduce me too. [Very easily.] So it means a lot to me that you didn't or haven't or... whatever.
Okay, first off you have to tell me about the sex, because I'm nosy and if
these dudes mean something to you I won't sleep with them so I have to live
vicariously through you.
[She was kind of teasing. Not about the guys being off limits
because they were but she'd never pressure Airy to talk about her sex life
if she didn't want to.]
Okay, so let's ignore the phrase "make love to you" because to some people
that just means you go slow and tender. So don't worry about those words,
okay? Let's focus on what will happen if you have feelings for them.
Also, you're welcome for not sleeping with you. It's been a bit of a trial
but our friendship is worth it.
The sex is a-mazing. [Her bright blue eyes glitter with humor as she watches Eve.] I don't know what I'll do. I don't want to develop feelings. I'll get jealous and maybe distance myself from them. I'm kind of hopeless. I want to find someone to spend my life with... who would wants to spend it with me.
Not that many people want that.
[Airy reaches forward and gently boops Eve's nose.]
Thank you. You're really amazing Eve and I love you for it.
Awww, yay! I'm glad it's so good for you. And I think if that's what you're
afraid of then you have to cut them off or make it clear that you want
something exclusive.
[Eve shifted, quickly rolling so that she was laying on top of Airy,
elbows on either side of the other's girl body, chin planted in her
hands.]
And I think people do want that, it's just that this place makes it
complicated. Because it's temporary.
[Airy watches Eve though her smile falters as her friends words begin to sink in.]
If I really really liked someone like that... I already know that it'll hurt. Whatever happens will hurt. I don't think I could ask anyone to be exclusive in a place like this. It feels like a very mean thing to do. [Not to mention that ex sexual partners would just be walking around. That, to Airy, feels very awkward.]
I don't honestly think that anyone would like me like that.
[Airy doesn't think it's hard to ignore people throwing themselves at you. When you truly love someone, it's really easy. What's hard is the pollen and other loopholes that seem to be littered around the world.]
If I find someone here I love... truly love, I'd find their world. I'd find them. I know that I could. [She has that power, when the fairies aren't dampening it.]
Hey! I will punch you, Airy Miller, for talking that way about my friend. Just because that friend is you doesn't change that. Of course someone will love you like that.
[Eve said it with all the confidence in the world because she knew it was true. She was good at interpersonal relationship stuff and she knew that someone was going to fall madly in love with Airy and want only her.]
Okay, so then it's different for you because most of us can't do that. Which will made it harder. Sorry, honey, I wish I had an easy fix for you but that's real talk.
Ah- [Airy pauses, processes Eve's threat and then smiles.] Thanks Eve. I guess I do need a good smack in the head sometimes. I'll stop saying bad things about your friend though.
[She bites her lower lip a little bashfully before looking back up at Eve. Airy is really lucky to have Eve as a friend.]
I know. I mean, I know I'm a little odd when it comes to those kinds of things. It makes it easy but then complicated too since I usually have to feel something to keep sleeping with someone. [It's bound to cause problems but Airy's done thinking about that. She reaches forward and pulls Eve into a cuddly hug.] Thanks Eve.
[Eve leaned in and kissed the tips of Airy's nose, glad that her friend was going to at least try to be a little more kind to herself.]
Sweetie, you need to stop considering what you want odd or weird. Everyone is different. That's what makes people great. How we're made up can be frustrating or make things difficult for us but you're not abnormal for not being like other people. That's just existence. And you're right, I am the best best friend ever. And you are now my pillow and I am going to snuggle and sleep on you forever.
Oh no. I'll never be able to get up again. [Her head turns to look at Eve with an affectionate smile.] Thank's Eve. I'm so happy to have you as my best friend. Even if that means I'll be your pillow.
[Airy feels the soft pressure of Eve's hand as her shoulders begin to slide off the bed. First her torso and then her hips and finally her feet slide clumsily to the floor as Airy's eyes jolt open and she stares up at Eve.]
Ah-
[Her hands press against her heart and she makes no move to get up.]
You gave me flashbacks to the day I arrived here. I had a fight with the sheets... and I lost. [She pauses.] Jerk.
You want me to sing to you? Um... I can sing the song my mother used to sing to me. [She pushes herself up form the floor and crawls back onto the bed, sitting with her back against the wall.]
She sang it almost every night. It's the rain drops on roses song.
[She just hoped they didn't both end up crying or something because
sometimes thinking about mothers in this place was hard. Thinking about any
family is hard.]
Do you mind if I sing it with you? I love that song.

Re: Action
A sleep over sounds fantastic. If that's cool with you?
[Because now that she was here she didn't want to leave. Snuggling up with Airy and falling asleep next to her actually sounded pretty fantastic.]
